Color of the Month Series: Purple Accessories

August 18, 2011

It’s accessory time! I have detailed purple as a major component to design in my last two posts and I want to use this post to show off some purple products that are smaller accent pieces. Since purple compliments so many other colors, it is easy to add it into an existing color scheme through accessories that change with the seasons.

I love to change out small things like vases, throws, throw pillows, placemats, etc. as the weather changes each season. These small changes add up to a very different feel when you walk into your house, and they don’t cost a lot of money.

Fall is just around the corner and purple goes great with fall colors like pumpkin orange, brown and red. I can’t believe summer is coming to an end so quickly!  Enjoy checking out some of my favorite purple finds below. First, let’s take a look at some rooms that feature purple accessories:

{Subtle purple glass candle holders accent the buffet in this photo. Room by Global Living as seen on Houzz.com}

{Talk about golden mustard! Beyond the cheery warm tones, the purple and cream rug jumps out from the floor. Room by Chris Snook as seen on Houzz.com}

{What a great accent to a traditional chandelier to add some purple flair on the ends. Room by Capital Lighting as seen on Houzz.com}

{I love these flowers! This is such a unique way to showcase a bit of florals in a room. Room by Kaylovesvintage as seen on Houzz.com}

{Accent pillows are one of the best ways to bring an accent color into a room. In this case, magenta kidney pillows pop in this bedding ensemble. Room by LDa Architecture and Interiors as seen on Houzz.com}

Now on to the accessory list:
