Wallpaper by Studio Herisson

June 8, 2011

I have been in a wallpaper phase this year and will have some great photos to share later this year. Wallpaper is once again “in” and I have been selecting it for our clients for—whole rooms, accent walls and ceilings (yes, ceilings are one of my favorite places to put it!).  In fact, one of my favorite rooms in the DC Design House was the library where Nancy Colbert used a very cool wallpaper on the ceiling to add warmth and dimension to the space.  I also like to use wallpaper in vertical and horizontal wall sections to add a little extra pop to a room.

Just recently I discovered Studio Herisson, a very unique wallpaper vendor that offers a DIY approach to wallpaper design.  Based in California, Studio Herisson has a set of wallpaper designs that are customizable by anyone who visits their website. You choose which design you like and the scale you prefer.  You also specify the size of the wall it will be applied to and the colors that will be used.

After creating your design online, you can order a sample of your wallpaper for $9.99, or simply purchase the wallpaper on the spot. And, their prices are very reasonable (about $6/sf)!

Here are some examples of a few of the patterns they offer:

{Bayeux pattern is based on an 11th century tapestry}

{Broccilme (a broccoli and veggie-themed paper) is a great pattern for a kid’s room}

{Four Square is a cool geometric}

{This fun sea life paper is adorable for a kid’s room!!}

{This tapestry pattern is a really fun one that can have a dramatic impact in any room}

{This trellis pattern is also a fun design and would be great for a sunroom in a cheery color combination}

Just think of all the different combinations you can develop from these simple starting points! Check out the Studio Herisson site to see all the unique wall coverings you can create!
